As members of the universal (katholikos) church, we affirm The Apostles’ Creed, The Nicene Creed, The Chalcedonian Creed, and The Athanasian Creed as accurate summaries of “the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).
As heirs of the Reformation, we recognize the Three Forms of Unity (The Belgic Confession, The Heidelberg Catechism, and The Canons of Dort), The Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion, The London Baptist Confession of Faith, The Westminster Confession of Faith, and The Savoy Declaration as legitimate Protestant expressions of the Christian faith.
Believing that evangelical emphases are essential for ecclesial vitality and renewal, we affirm the indispensability of biblical inerrancy, the Christ-centered testimony of the Scriptures, the necessity of conversion for salvation, and the obedience of saving faith as set forth in The Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, The Lausanne Covenant, and The Cambridge Declaration.
The duty of every man (Gen. 2:15) and every pastor (Titus 1:9) is to guard those entrusted to his care. This masculine orientation to the world requires standing boldly against contemporary lies that are destroying the fidelity and efficacy of many churches today. For this reason we uphold the truths in The Danvers Statement on biblical manhood and womanhood, The Nashville Statement on biblical sexuality, and The Statement on Social Justice & the Gospel.
Like Francis J. Grimké, our seminary is committed to the true gospel that saves sinners and the world.
